Jiva Medical PDF Print E-mail

Jiva Medical was formed to take advantage of 15 years of experience in the medical IT business and the growing popularity of the Eclipse open source eco-system. Jiva Medical provides Eclipse based open standards tooling and runtime components for healthcare systems.

Jiva Medical’s components are based on open standards from standards organizations (HL7, OMG, ASTM, ISO and CEN) and implemented using the Eclipse open frameworks. These components and tools, such as HL7 Messaging, CDA, CCR and PMI, meet the requirements of the IHE ( www.ihe.net ) profiles.

Jiva Medical supplies components and services to medical IT system vendors and integrators.

Jiva Medical has made a strong commitment to standards based systems. Jiva Medical has taken leadership positions in the Eclipse OHF project. ( www.eclipse.org/ohf ), the technical community of the HL7 Standards Organization ( www.hl7.org ) and the OMG/HL7 Healthcare Services Specification Project(HSSP) ( www.omg.org ). Jiva Medical through its Eclispe affiliation is building reference implementations of the HSSP projects ( click here for more information in PDF )

Jiva Medical has a long history in the HL7 V2 world, through its own products and projects as well as its HL7 Connect product. Jiva Medical is extending that history with the planned introduction of HL7 V3 products and runtime.

Jiva Medical leads the HL7 V3 Eclipse Tooling project (H3ET pronounced “heat”). This project is providing an extensible tooling framework to support both the standards development work and the use of the HL7 V3 standard in healthcare applications.
